RUNDLE, Anna Rundle

Rundle AnnaRUNDLE, Anna Rundle   –  Died peacefully, at home on March 26, 2024, at the age of 94.

Anna was a cherished friend to many, and beloved aunt to Paul (Jan), Peter (Bev), Stephen, Susan (Jeff), Carol (Chris) and Sheila. Great-aunt to Ian, Scott, Claire, Elliott, Amber and Cormac.

Predeceased by sisters, Mary, Ruth and Carol. Anna attended Forest Hill Collegiate and University of Toronto (Victoria College), graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1950.

After working in Toronto and at Mont Tremblant, Quebec, she accepted a job at Mammoth Mountain, drove west with friends, and began an active and fulfilling life in California.

Anna had a successful career with IBM in Los Angeles, working for a few years in Atlanta, Georgia. After retiring from IBM in 1987, she worked part-time with the State of California. She was a valued member of American Association of University Women, League of Women Voters, and local library and historical groups. She enjoyed travels around the world, and visited family and friends throughout the United States and Canada.

A lifelong learner and arts enthusiast, Anna loved theatre, concerts and galleries. Though her dementia diagnosis in 2013 presented challenges, Anna remained active, with the help of dedicated friends and caregivers. She made many new friends at her care homes in Glendale and Pasadena.

In 2017, she returned to Toronto to live with her niece and be closer to family. Anna had a kind, positive outlook, and would often say “We’re very lucky.” Without a doubt, her friends, relatives, and colleagues would agree that we were all very lucky to have had Anna in our lives.

A funeral service will be held at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church (East Chapel) on June 7th at 2 p.m.

Donations in Anna’s memory can be made to Doctors Without Borders, or any arts organization.
