ANSEMS, Josephus Johannes “Joe” Ansems

It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Josephus (Joe) Johannes Ansems on February 20, 2026 at Craigwiel Gardens in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Judith (Richardson) of 61 special years. Loving father of Mike (Sandra) Ansems, Laurie (Ken) Sanders and Paul Ansems (Sherry Randall). Proud grandpa of Rachel, Derek, Ian (Krista), Kaitlyn (Justin), Kimberly (Steve), Evan (Ashlyn), Khyle, Alexander and Jayden. Cherished great-grandpa of Emma, Adam, Erik, Claire, James, Ellie, Gavin, Quinn, Rowan, Owen, Dawson, and Klayton.

Joe is survived by his siblings Jacoba, Maria and Nivardus, also by his sisters-in-law Mary, Joanne, Viola, and Donna.

Joe is predeceased by his siblings John (Ria), Jack, Chris, Tony, Adrian, Cathy (Jim), Archie (Marilyn), Theresia. Also predeceased by his brothers-in-law Jim and Bill.

Joe will be sadly missed and remembered always, by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Joe was, above all else, a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from being surrounded by the people he loved. He was happiest on the sidelines of a hockey or soccer game and he never arrived without a treat in hand for the kids. Joe was blessed with a wide circle of friends and his easygoing nature, generosity, and love of simple fun made him a pleasure to have at every gathering. His warmth, kindness and never ending smile leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, from 12 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at The North Middlesex Community Centre, Parkhill. A time of fellowship and reception will continue after the ceremony. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Craigwiel Gardens Building Fund.
