ANTAYA, Ronald Michael Antaya
April 8, 1952 - January 26, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Michael Antaya, who left us on January 26, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on April 8, 1952, in Windsor, Ontario.
Ron was the cherished son of Melvin and Katie (née Lavin) Antaya. He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet (née Sturgeon), with whom he shared 15 wonderful years of marriage and cherished 37 years of companionship. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Ron was a proud father to his children: Jason (Rachel), Chuckie (Monica), Doug (Satty), Sherry (Joe) and Ronnie (Mary Jane). His love extended to his grandchildren Jordan, Ryker, Zara, Melody, Brittany (Autumn), Charles, and Aiden, who were the lights of his life.
Ron is also remembered by his siblings: sisters Cindy, Denise, and Linda, and brother Jeff, as well as his stepmom, Solange. He was preceded in death by his dear sister Debbie.
A dedicated employee, Ron worked for General Motors for 28 years, where he was a proud member of the GM Union. He embodied the values of hard work and commitment, which he instilled in his family. Outside of work, Ron was a man of many passions. He loved golfing and enjoyed the camaraderie of playing and watching baseball, hockey, and football. Ron had a particular fondness for watching the news and staying connected with current events. Each night, he made a point to call every family member, a testament to how much he cared for those close to him.
Ron was known for his loving, stubborn, and caring nature. He had an infectious laugh and a warm spirit that lit up any room. His ability to notice the little things, combined with his light-hearted approach to life, created a sense of joy for everyone around him. Above all, he loved his wife Janet more than anything, and his affection for her was evident to all who witnessed their bond.
The family invites those who wish to honor Ron’s memory to consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society, organizations that were near and dear to his heart.
In this time of loss, the family extends a special thank you to Darlene Dagenais, Sherry Marshall, Jason and Rachel Antaya, Brittany, and Satty for their unwavering love and support during this sudden time of grief.
Visiting will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Windsor Chapel Banwell (11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, Windsor, ON) from 12 pm until 3 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 3 pm. Cremation will take place.
Ronald Michael Antaya will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his kindness, laughter, and the love he so generously shared. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry forward his spirit of love and joy.
