Valeriote NinoVALERIOTE, Anthony ‘Nino’  – Passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, October 12, 2015 in his 82nd year. 

Beloved husband of the late Savina “Sylvia” Valeriote (nee Libertini, February 2015).

Cherished father of Jim (Karen), Tony (Lisa), Joanna Mataya (John) and Teresa Guthrie (Phil White).  Proud and loving Nonno to Matthew, Jessica (Conor), Danielle, Nicole (Jake Hope), Kyle (fiancée Dana), Megan, Michael, Jonathan, Adam and Amanda.

Dear brother-in-law of Mary Ventresca (late Mario) and Ann Libertini (late Charlie).  Sadly missed and fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Nino was a well respected teacher who started his career at 19 years of age teaching first in Delhi, Ontario. His 35 year career expanded from teacher to his retirement as Principal.

He influenced and mentored many people over the years and would remember every student’s name whenever he ran into one.

His love of hunting and fishing was apparent in every aspect of his life. He took his passion to the next level where he patented fishing equipment. He cherished his time outdoors with his kids and grandchildren. He loved his family, his home and his sports. He will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched.

The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, Ontario on Friday, October 16th from  2-4 & 6-8 p.m. 

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 307 Niagara Street, Welland on Saturday, October 17th at 11:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Parkinsons Foundation or Rapelje Lodge would be appreciated by the family.
