It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Lolita Poblete Arce, who passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2025, at the age of 95.

Lolita was the link that bound our family together — a gentle presence whose quiet strength and care touched everyone around her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: playing mahjong and poker, visiting the casino, and watching cardinals, blue jays, and chipmunks stop by for a treat. She had a special fondness for feeding birds and always made sure they were well taken care of.

She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones, especially when she was in the kitchen cooking. She also enjoyed relaxing with her favorite show, Hudson & Rex.

Lolita leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She was the loving mother of Teresita, Alberto Jr., Maria, Thelma, Rodolfo, Wilfredo, Catherine, and Rolando.

She is lovingly remembered by her 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Alberto, sister Erlinda, son Marianito, and grandchild Daniel.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Lolita will be held Friday, July 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oshawa Funeral Home located at 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J 2L4. A memorial service will occur Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, at the Oshawa Funeral Home located at 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J 2L4. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, located at 355 Taunton Rd E, Whitby, Ontario L1R 3L4 following the service at the Oshawa Funeral Home.
