Francis “Boying” Arellano was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and faithful servant of the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Marilou Arellano, his sons Aaron, Elijah, and Josiah, daughter-in-law Jessie, and his grandsons Zion and Levi, who brought him immense pride and delight.
Born to Celedonio Arellano and Elena Arellano, Francis was one of seven children. He was widely known as intelligent, hardworking, respected, faithful, funny, generous, discerning, and wise—a man whose quiet strength and warm humour made people feel both guided and at ease.
Francis pursued excellence in his professional life, working at his dream job as a network engineer at IBM for over two decades. More than his career, however, Francis was known for his unwavering love for his Lord. Forty years ago, his life was radically transformed by the saving power of the gospel after his conversion in the underground church in Saudi Arabia—an encounter with Christ that shaped every aspect of his life thereafter.
Francis faithfully served as an elder in numerous congregations, counting it both a joy and a sacred honour to shepherd the church. He was a trusted friend, spiritual mentor, and a father figure to many. His greatest passion was seeing lives changed by the gospel that had so powerfully transformed his own. Through wisdom, humility, and love, he guided others to experience the grace, truth, and hope found in Jesus Christ.
Above all, Francis was a man who loved deeply—his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his family, and the people God placed in his care. His life was a living testimony of faithfulness, service, and devotion to God.
Though he will be dearly missed, those who loved him rejoice in the assurance that Francis has finished his race and now rests in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served.
