
Our hearts are breaking as we announce the passing of Harriet Adele Ann Arseneault (née Taylor) on Monday, May 5, 2025. Surrounded by family and friends at Bluewater Health Palliative Care, Harriet passed peacefully at the age of 78 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved wife of the late Vincent Arseneault (2015), loving mother to Denise Simpson (Dave Fogel), and predeceased by her daughter Jo-Anne Cartier (2021). Cherished Nana to Nicole Simpson (Alex Worger), Chantal Simpson, Jennifer Simpson, Keyan Fogel, Liam Fogel, Shane Arseneault (Hannah), Krista Smalletters (Giedrius), Rebecca Chelonis (Yani), and Eric McKay.
Harriet was a proud great-grandmother to Emily, Collin, Jackson, Devina, Girus, and Nortilas. She is survived by her sisters Gina Smith and Bernice Gear (Joe), and predeceased by her parents Raymond and Ivy Taylor, and brothers Winston and Rudy. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Known affectionately as “Harry,” she worked at Marshall Gowland Manor for 30 years. Harriet had a love for Euchre, her Vision Rest Home friends, and most of all, making memories through laughter and travel with her sister Gina. Special thanks go to Sheila and Paul Reed and the staff of Vision Rest Home and Bluewater Palliative for their support and care.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harriet’s name to St. Joseph’s Hospice.
