ASHTON, Gerald Roy Ashton

Passed away in his sleep December 7, 2025. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Elizabeth. Jerry married Elizabeth on September 5, 1953. Together they raised their four children: Jane Lefebvre (Luc), Susan Greenlaw (Dana), David, and Jennifer Kent (Rich). Jerry was also the proud Grandpa of Josh Lefebvre (Meggan), Amy Lefebvre, Megan King (Randy), David Lynn, Katie Brown (Guy), and Alison Meilach (Jonathan); as well as Great-Grandpa to eight and Great-Great-Grandpa to five.

Jerry first established his own fuel pump repair business before embarking on a second career in his forties. He went on to serve as manager of the Toronto and Montreal Gift Shows for SouthEx Exhibitions, a role he held with pride until his retirement. Jerry’s love for duck hunting and fishing began in boyhood and remained a lifelong passion. He and Elizabeth also shared a love of travel, exploring the world with a close-knit circle of lifelong friends. Yet their favourite place of all was their beloved “Cozy Cottage” on Fairhaven Island, in the beautiful Lake Muskoka. Jerry took immense pride in keeping Cozy in pristine condition and treasured the deep friendships they formed with their cherished island community. He loved his summer days on his prized boat, whether teaching someone to water-ski, picking up family from mainland, or enjoying peaceful sunset rides with his beloved Lizzy. We are comforted in knowing they have been reunited again.

He will be sadly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
