ATKINSON, Shirley Anne Regan nee Atkinson
July 25, 1943 - September 23, 2025
Passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on September 23, 2025, at the age of 82. She is reunited with her devoted husband and high school sweetheart, Edward (2024), of 62 years. She was loved deeply by her 3 daughters Michelle (Lisa), Christine (Richard), and Annette (Greg). Shirley was also the proud grandmother of Shaun (Ada), Amanda (Rory), Edward (Sarah), Preston, Corinne (Adam), and Courtney (Guillaume), as well as great grandmother to Connor and Mackenzie. She is predeceased by her parents Dolores and Sheridan B. Atkinson, and by her mother-in-law Helen (Regan) Arnason. Dear sister of the late Sheridan (Susan), Gerry, and Fred (Nancy). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and treasured life-long friends.
Shirley worked alongside her husband, Edward, at Redoe Mold for 40 years and was instrumental to their success. She was passionate about travel, boating, animals, and pet visitations at Huron Lodge. Shirley had a love for life, but her greatest love was always family. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and strong family values. Shirley would never let anyone leave without giving away flowers from her garden, usually presented in a pink vase she found at a thrift shop. Mom’s joyful spirit was reflected by her love of the colour pink, and evident in her choices of clothing, accessories, and décor.
A special thank you to Peggy and Cheryl for the kindness and friendship shown toward Shirley and her faithful furry companion Teddy.
Mom was very generous in her support of numerous charities. If so desired, mom would be touched by donations made to a charity of your choice in her name.
At Shirley’s request, cremation has taken place.
