BALL, Linda Catherine Ball
July 9, 1965 - March 5, 2026
Passed away at home on Thursday, March 5, 2026, surrounded by family, in her 61st year. Beloved wife of Kevin, and mother of Amanda (Kyler Knoll) and Katelyn (Ben Milburn).
She will be dearly missed by her sister Barb (Dave) Schaefer, brother Peter (Brenda) Merchant, brothers-in-law Dayle Ball (Wendy Foy) and David Ball (Karen Macwilliams), nephew Derek, and nieces Jennifer, Sara, Stephanie, and Tiffany.
Predeceased by her parents Albert and Catherine (nee Lang) Merchant, brother Jim Merchant, brother-in-law Blaine Ball, and parents-in-law Wayne and Audrey (nee Galbraith) Ball.
Linda had many passions. She truly poured her heart into all of her creative projects – from decorating for every holiday, bringing Pinterest boards to life for many weddings, creating beautiful flower arrangements for the front of her house and spending endless hours in her flowerbeds. She was genuinely kind to everyone and always looked for ways to help. She devoted countless hours and poured her heart into causes like local foodbanks and Operation Christmas Child which was her passion project for many, many years. Even on vacations, Linda kept others in mind—she always packed extra essentials for people in need and on trips to Toronto, she filled her car with donations for the Salvation Army.
Linda’s joyful spirit and fearless approach to life touched everyone who knew her. She believed that life was meant to be enjoyed. Whether she was planning another spontaneous family vacation, camping trip or dreaming up a new adventure, she embraced every moment with excitement and optimism. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a remarkable way of putting a smile on anyone’s face. People always said you knew Linda was there because you could hear her laugh before you could spot her in the room. She surrounded herself with a close-knit and lively circle of family, friends, and coworkers all of whom she loved and cherished deeply. She taught us that life is best lived with an open heart, a sense of adventure, and the joy of bringing people together. Her spirit will live on in every road trip, campfire, sunset on a beach, cold Coors Light, celebration, and laughter shared in her memory.
Friends and relatives are invited for memorial visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Cameron’s in Walkerton.
