Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on February 1, 2026 in his 98th year.
Beloved husband of Lillian (Uhlik) for 73 years. Father to Allan (Yve) Ball, Luanne (Mike) Merritt, Gary (Cheryl) Ball, Ron (Lynne) Ball and Jane (Brian) Byers. Grandfather to Ryan (Vanessa), Fr. Glen, Scott (Kerry), Jason (Emilly), Kristen (Josh), Kyle (Taylor), Jeremy, Aaron (Rhiannon), Melissa (Matt), Laura (Derek), Carly (Nick), Jared and Jordyn and great grandfather to Braxton, Haylee, Maggie, Emerson, Rosalyn, Stellan, Myra, Hendrix, Madden, Alice, Cadence, Jackson, and Atlin.
Murray is predeceased by his parents Frank and Maud Ball, his brothers Donald (Jean) Ball, Doug (Kay) Ball, Bev Ball, his sister Margaret (Bill) Simonton, sister in law Frances (Martin) Gazarek, brothers in law Jerry Uhlik, Ed (Martha) Uhlik and survived by sisters in law Helen Atkinson and Lillian Uhlik. He will be missed by his numerous nephews and nieces.
Murray spent his life farming in Raleigh and Harwich townships with many years as a tomato grower. He loved the outdoors, hunting and snowmobiling in his younger days. Family gatherings with campfires and his famous coffee were frequent and his knack for telling a good story from his past will forever be remembered and held dear.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. L. Sutherland and the wonderful and caring nursing and medical staff that has cared for Murray, particularly at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, The Maples and the Chatham-Kent Hospice.
A private funeral service will take place. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
Interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim will occur at a later date.
