passed away peacefully at Gilmore Lodge, Fort Erie while surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Edward Balogh (2020). Survived by her loving daughters Ava (Jerry) Dalcourt, Penny (Mark) Fitzgerald, and DeeAnne (Rick) Urbanowicz. Cherished grandmother of Lindsay Fitzgerald-Bernard (Randy Bernard), Kristie (Jay) Bath, Edward Dalcourt (Sabrina Dalcourt Cousineau), Amanda Boisvenue (Cory Ladkin), Ilyssa Boisvenue, Ryley Boisvenue (Kylee), Chris Urbanowicz and Cayden Ladkin. Adored great grandmother of Evan, Owen, Grayson, Hudson, Braxton, Paisley, and Delaney. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Violet Bleich, her brothers Charlie, Donald, and George Bleich and her sister Maxine Taylor. Joyce worked at Sunbeam Shoe Factory from where she retired. She enjoyed crafting, baking, cooking and spending time with those she loved. A special thank you to the entire staff at Gilmore Lodge for all the great care our mother received during her stay. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 688 Elm Street, Port Colborne on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Highway 20, Fonthill. If so desired, memorial donations to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
