BANK, David Robert Bank
December 21, 1951 - February 22, 2026
Passed away suddenly at his home in Ethel on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in his 75th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara (Radtke) Bank, they shared more than 50 years of marriage built on devotion and partnership.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Amanda and Kevin Williams and grandchildren Darius and Aria, all of London; Laura Bank of London; and James Bank and Alana Eadie of Whitechurch. David will also be deeply missed by his siblings: Margaret Fournier of Ethel, Chris and Karrie Bank of London, and Rick Bank of Brussels, as well as his beloved companion, Webster.
In his early twenties, David survived a life-altering car accident that left him physically disabled. With remarkable determination and independence, he refused to let it define him, choosing instead to build a life marked by resilience, hard work, and self-reliance.
David went on to become a skilled auto mechanic, operating his own business from his home shop for more than 30 years. He had a natural gift for understanding how things worked and a deep love of all things mechanical. He was always building, modifying, and inventing ways to make life easier.
When his children were young, David built a motocross track on his property — a true labour of love that reflected his creativity and generosity. He maintained it throughout his life, welcoming anyone who wanted to ride and taking great pride in seeing others enjoy what he had created. He also treasured time with family and grandchildren at the cottage, where watching them boat and waterski brought him immense joy. Though he could not participate in those activities himself, he loved seeing them experience the freedom of the water and create memories together. For David, building places and opportunities for others to enjoy was one of the clearest expressions of who he was.
A private family funeral service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Stratford-Perth Humane Society would be appreciated.
