BARNES, David William Barnes

He passed away suddenly at home, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Ann Barnes (nee Kelly) (2019). Treasured brother of Judy Glazsher of Cornwall, UK. Dear brother-in-law of Patricia McEachern, Dan (Sue) Kelly, and Joe (Cathy) Kelly. He will be missed by his special friends Ivan and Lila Stephanic, Rick and Corrie Feldon, and Bev and Jim Maitland. Predeceased by his parents William and Shelia Barnes and his sister-in-law Colleen Kelly. When Dave/Bill was 17, he immigrated to Canada from Cornwall, England, beginning a life of determination and hard work. He worked and retired as a stationary engineer at the utility plant at Imperial Oil. Outside of work, he was an avid storyteller finding humor in a lot of situations. He was a sailor who enjoyed time on the water and had a deep love for his motorcycle. Dave/Bill will be missed by all those who knew and cared for him. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dave/Bill’s life will take place at Smith Family Centre, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity (cheques only at the funeral home please).
