BAZELY, Ed Bazeley
November 4, 2025
With great love and sadness, the Bazeley family announces that Charles “Edward” Bazeley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on Tuesday, November 4th at home in Victoria at the age of 93.
Ed was born in Saskatchewan, son of Charles and Clara Bazeley. Ed had three children with his first wife.
He was the loving father of Warren Bazeley of Yorkton and his family: Justin (and family), Jenna (and her children Kyla & Kade), Jessica (and her boys Brayden & Kolsen), Janelle and Chayse; Darlene Hollstein (Tim) and daughters Rebecka (Jordan and daughter Ivy) and Courtney (Riely) of Victoria; and Dennis Bazeley and daughters Trina & Kirsten.
Ed owned and operated a grain farm in the Saltcoats area of Saskatchewan and a grain hauling company called Bazeley Trucking, until his retirement in 1996, when he moved to Yorkton and later relocated to Victoria in 1999. In Victoria, he married Joan Waterhouse in 2001, with whom he spent his remaining years. He will also be fondly remembered by Joan’s many nieces and nephews who welcomed him as family. He will be deeply missed by the Bazeley, Bonar and extended families.
Ed was predeceased by his parents and many extended family members.
Anyone who met Ed was better for it. His warmth, wisdom, and generosity left a lasting mark on every life he touched. A friendly man who would give anyone the time of day, Ed always had time for a visit and a coffee. He enjoyed the prairie life, but when he retired to Victoria, he embraced new passions, taking up golf and generously donating his time to delivering meals for those in need and volunteering at a local bistro.
He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered, with a smile, for his contagious laugh, remarkable resilience, and a heart full of kindness and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency at bccancer.bc.ca/donate or by mail to 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8R 6V5.
There will be a quiet celebration of Ed’s life held for immediate family only.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
