Beckett: Ronald, a resident of Shetland, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Norwich, England, he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Kerrison) Beckett.

Ron was a dedicated volunteer driver for over 15 years with the Children’s Aid Society of Chatham & Sarnia. He loved coaching his children in baseball and hockey, never missing a game despite his shift work. His joy extended to woodworking, his koi pond, and the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Beloved husband to Barbara (Roesch) Beckett. Loving father to Annette (Chris Schleihauf) and Don Beckett. Cherished grandfather to Adam and Rebecca Schleihauf. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Velma Bond (late Earl), Rosalynn Beckett (late Chris), and Allan Beckett (Betty). Predeceased by sisters Jean Viaene (Lucien) and Maisy Leone (Peter).

At Ron’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will follow at Shetland Cemetery. Memorial donations to Linck Child, Youth and Family Support (linck.org) are greatly appreciated.
