Beautiful journey came to an end surrounded by his immediate family on the afternoon of Thursday, March 5, 2026. He was a kind, courageous and very spirited man. He always put others before himself and loved to make everyone smile or laugh. He could quote almost any movie and loved playing video games. In his 36 years, he touched many lives and at just 11 days old, was the youngest heart transplant recipient in Canada in 1989. He broke records and always had people guessing after his second transplant in 2003. The pain he suffered was not something you would know if you just met him on the street, he never complained and lived life to the fullest. He loved animals and you would always see him with them. He is predeceased by his father Brian who was so proud of his son and always talked about him. He was a remarkable young man who never understood just how special he truly was. He grew up surrounded by the outdoors and was always itching to get out, this is where Wesley’s love of outdoors started. Always up for an adventure, he loved to explore the bush on his ATV or sled. His biggest passion was driving his skidder. Any chance he could he would be out and driving something or going somewhere, or visiting someone.

He is survived by his loving mother, Sharon, and will be fondly missed by his sisters Jennifer Keller (Casey), Pamela Lovelace (Steve), and Stephanie Dumoulin (Randy), along with his nephews and nieces, Klayton Keller, Katrina Malcolm, Tucker Lovelace, Ethan Dumoulin and Elodie Dumoulin and great-nieces Gracelynn and Adalee Malcolm. Wesley will also be remembered by his extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his father Brian (December 2, 2009).

The family will receive friends and family at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay, ON. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm followed by a light luncheon.
