BENOIT, Alan Joseph Benoit

December 19, 1951 - November 30, 2025

Alan passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the age of 73. Alan was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Shirley. He will be dearly missed by his girlfriend of 50 years, Teresa Cuke, his many cousins, especially Wendy Ann, Alice, and Kelly and their families, his late cousin, Brian’s wife, Mary, and his Burloak family. Alan was born and raised in Montreal and moved to Burlington at the age of 28. There he worked for the Halton District School Board as a custodian until his retirement at age 60. Alan spent the last 10 years of his life at Burloak Long Term Care, where he flourished. He was very proud to be the President of the Resident’s Council and was considered a tremendous support to the staff. He enjoyed making residents and families feel welcome and being able to answer the questions and concerns of other residents. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus for 20 years and earned his 4th Degree. A kind and gentle soul, he touched the lives of all who knew him.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church (4072 New St, Burlington) on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Burlington Memorial Gardens Cemetery with a reception to follow at Smith’s Funeral Home (1167 Guelph Line, Burlington). www.smithsfh.com
