McKICHAN, Bente  –  Died on November 21, 2023, in her 62nd year.

She was predeceased by her mother, Nina McKichan (née Helweg-Jorgensen).

Survived by her father, Alasdair McKichan and his partner, Penny Ecclestone; Bente’s sister, Britta McKichan; and by cousins in Denmark, UK and the US.

For the last 41 years of her life, Bente, very much a ‘people person,’ valued her happy interactions with her dedicated caregivers at Community Living Mississauga.

They were good friends as well as caregivers.

Bente also enjoyed her years at Red Oaks School, Mississauga, where she learned the living skills she so well utilized in adulthood.

As a youngster, Bente was able to visit her grandparents in Denmark and Scotland, to their and her considerable delight. In lieu of flowers, Bente’s family would appreciate donations to Community Living Mississauga, 6695 Millcreek Drive, Unit #1, Mississauga ON, L5N 5R8.

A celebration of Bente’s life will take place at Glenerin Inn and Spa, 1695 The Collegeway, Mississauga, on Monday, December 4th at 4:00 p.m.
