BERG, Cornelius Berg

Cornelius Berg was born to Kornelius and Maria Berg in the Ukraine on February 19, 1933. Through the second World War his father was taken to Siberia in 1941 where he passed away in a labour camp. Maria and their children Cornelius, Peter, and Mary left the Ukraine and ended up in Germany. From there they went to Paraguay for about 7 years. Finally the family emigrated to Leamington in 1955. Here he met Justine Froese and they married in 1956. Cornelius and Jessie had 2 boys, Victor and Ernie. Jessie passed away in 1999. In 2000, Cornelius married Helen Neufeld. Sadly, Helen passed away in 2014. Cornelius passed away peacefully on the morning of October 3, 2025 at 92 years of age. Cornelius is dearly loved and missed by his family and many friends. Cornie’s family includes Vic and Sherry, their three children and families, including 8 great grand children, Ernie & Kathy, their 2 children and families, including 6 great grand children.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 8th at Leamington United Mennonite Church from 11:30 – 1:00 with a Funeral Service at 1:00. Following the service burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park in Leamington.
