BERNARD, Carole Pauline Bernard
August 26, 1963 - March 7, 2026It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved mother, Carole Bernard (née Demers). Born on August 26, 1963, she passed away peacefully at her residence in Alban on March 7, 2026. Predeceased by the love of her life, Rick Bernard (2018), and by her mother, Armande Demers (Pilon) (2014), she is survived by her father George Demers; her cherished daughters Josée Bernard and Chantal Bisaillon (Bernard); her brothers Dan, Norm, and George Jr. (Kim); her grandchildren Jordan, Zacharie, Devon, Laurent, and Adèle; and her newly born great‑granddaughter Sage.
Carole will be fondly remembered by her in-laws Mike Bernard (Diane), Sue Mathias (Mike), Dan Bernard (Chantale), Angèle St-Jules (Marc) and Stéphan Bernard (Amy), as well as her god-children Daniel, Maxine, Andréa and Zacharie. She will be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her best friend, confidante, and sister at heart, Suzanne Radey (Demers), as well as her dear friends Marc and Cécile Dubreuil, with whom she shared a deep and cherished bond.
Carole worked at Laurentian University until her health declined, yet her determination and joyful spirit never wavered. She followed through and fulfilled their dream of building a home on the French River after Richard’s passing, where she lived surrounded by the peace of nature. She lovingly cared for her father there, and together they shared quiet mornings birdwatching with coffee in hand—moments she cherished deeply.
Blessed with a talent like no other, she filled her home with the many diamond art and folk art paintings she lovingly created. Even as her health declined, our mom never stopped giving. She had a heart of gold; no matter the challenges she faced, she always greeted others with a radiant smile that made everyone feel valued, appreciated, and fortunate to be part of her life.
A heartfelt thank you to Nurse Practitioner Ann Desrosiers and the team at the Univi Health Centre for their exceptional care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour her memory may do so through a donation to Myositis Canada, a cause close to her heart.
Funeral mass at Notre Dame de Lourdes, Alban will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 11am. Friends may gather at the church after 9:30am. Interment in the Alban Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Homes.
