BISHOP, Mary Patricia Robinson Bishop (nee Bishop)
May 14, 1925 - June 25, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Patricia Robinson Bishop (Pat), who passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the age of 100. She passed away at Park Lane Terrace, Paris, Ontario, one month after celebrating her 100th birthday.
Pat is predeceased by her husband, Howard Everest Robinson (2012). She is survived by her daughters Sally Bullas (John) and Jennifer Taylor (Gord), and will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Brian Gladstone, Janet Phillips, Carolyn Jarman (Brad), Sandra Taylor, Patty Graham (Ross), and Amanda Taylor (Ben). She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Hayden and Callan Phillips, Ellie, Ted, and Sam Jarman, Robin, Lucy, and Julia Graham.
Pat was born in Coulsdon, Surrey, England, and emigrated to Canada in 1967 with her husband and children. She served in the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) during World War II and later pursued a degree in English and History at the University of Guelph as a mature student. She had a successful career in human resources and spent many years compiling her motherβs family history, with a special interest in her great-great-grandfather Captain Andrew Drew and his connection to the founding of Woodstock, Ontario.
Pat and Howard traveled the world together, and her wry British wit and wisdom will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
A private memorial service will be held in early July to celebrate Patβs life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimerβs Society, Cambridge Memorial Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
