We celebrate the life of a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend of many people whose lives she has touched.

Married in 1959, Harm and Annie raised four children on their rural property on the Mull Side Road. They had an enormous garden, and fed their family from its harvests. Her pantry was full of home-made preserves, and her giant rolling pin was an extension of her arms. Her sisters, children and grandchildren would spend many afternoons baking butter tarts and sharing stories in her kitchen, overlooking the creek and farmlands beyond.

She was head of the catering committee for the First Christian Reformed Church for many years and initiated the annual apple pie fundraiser for the Christian schools. She also enjoyed participating in the church’s Friendship group, supporting weekly Bible stories and social activities for people with special needs

Her family will miss her Christmas baskets filled with chocolate chip cookies, her generous family meals, her willingness to be silly and her surprising competitiveness at cards or Scrabble.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
