It is with love and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Susanne Gaye Caron Black at Carpenter Hospice in Burlington on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the age of 73.

Susanne was the beloved wife of Roger for over 54 years and the loving mother of Michael (Elizabeth). She was a cherished grandmother—known affectionately as “Dabo”—to Kaidy, Norah, and Susanne.

She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Debbie, Trudy, Larry, Robert, and Reggie. Susanne was predeceased by her parents, Reginald and Doris Black.

Visitation will be held at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, on Friday, May 16th, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the Chapel on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

If desired, memorial contributions to Carpenter Hospice, Juravinski Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
