BLUCKE, Mogens Blucke

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the loss of Mogens Blucke, who passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 75.

Left to hold him dear to their hearts are those he loved most, including his wife of 25 years, Rae; son, Adrian (Nancy); stepdaughter, Tracy, and stepdaughter-in-law, Anna-Lee; grandchildren Taylor, Shauna, and Graham; many great-grandchildren who he loved dearly; siblings Lisa, Lona, Willie, and Brian (Debbie); and sister-in-law Gloria. He was predeceased by his brother, John, and by his stepson, Kerry.

Mogens, born on April 22, 1950, was a man whose warmth, humour, and kindness touched everyone he met. One of seven siblings, he grew up surrounded by love and laughter, carrying that same energy with him throughout his life. He was a devoted family man who adored his loved ones deeply and made it his mission to fill their lives with joy. With his quick wit and sharp mind, Mogens always had an answer for everything — and usually a funny one at that. His great sense of humour and friendly nature meant he could strike up a conversation with anyone, turning strangers into friends in no time.

For 52 years, Mogens worked as a heavy equipment operator, mastering his craft with dedication and pride. Outside of work, he was a passionate marksman and competitive shooter, always striving for precision and excellence. A lover of music and trivia, Mogens could often be found sharing fascinating facts or nailing every “Jeopardy!” question before the contestants could even buzz in. He had a brilliant mind, full of random knowledge, and a heart that matched in size and warmth. His trademark saying — “Make sure we’re not late for leaving early” — captured his humour and love of life perfectly.

Mogens will be deeply and dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Family and friends will each honour him in their own ways. No formal service will be held.
