BORZECKA, Ewa Borzecka

Passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Ewa was born in Zakopane, an iconic town at the foot of the Tatra Mountains in Poland. Talented, shy, and gifted in mathematics, she chose to study English philology because she always wanted to cross borders and explore the world. She loved the mountains – whenever she visited her hometown, she would always go to the Tatras, the most beautiful mountains in Poland.

Family was at the heart of her life. She cherished her Canadian family — her beloved partner, John, a devoted father to their only son Voyslav, whom she loved more than life itself. She also held deep love and pride for her Polish family. Her father, Władysław, a sculptor and highlander from the Pieniny Mountains; her mother, Alicja, a gifted sculptor; and her sister, Olga, and brother-in-law, Wojciech, both dedicated members of the academic community. She will be missed by her sisters-in-law, Patty Green (Paul), Susan Webb and Joan Vanderwal (Ron); brothers-in-law Jim Webb and Peter Webb (Jacquie) and Walter Borzecki and family members who supported her during her move to Canada, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ewa is predeceased by her parents, Władysław and Alicja, parents-in-law Keith and Peggy Webb, her sister-in-law Judie Webb, and brother-in-law Dunc McTavish.

Ewa was a dedicated educator who worked tirelessly to the benefit of the students. She encouraged them to achieve goals not thought to be attainable.

Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, (905-852-3073), on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1p.m., with a reception to immediately follow.
