BOUCHER, Chesley Advin Boucher
July 4, 1940 - November 15, 2025
It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of Chesley Boucher of Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. A close-knit community that has maintained communication to this day thanks to the members of The Sydney-Toronto Association, of which he was a member. Leaving Nova Scotia early in his life to join the Canadian Air Force, Chesley served briefly, but made friends that led him to Toronto and a time in the entertainment industry as an actor and musician, most notably with the group “Chester and the Unknowns”.
Residing in Toronto for the remainder of his life, he had a long career with The Hudson’s Bay Company Queen St. store in sporting goods and housewares and in retirement at Yorkdale Ford as a driver. A life long sports fan, Chesley played hockey from a young age both in Sydney and Toronto, winning accolades with his many teams. His love of hockey and tennis both as a player and fan was a large part of his life and the source of much happiness.
His long friendships were another. His list of friends and acquaintances was long and he did his best to maintain them, whether it was in person, by phone or a card at Christmas.
Chesley is survived by his daughter, Krysta Azure Massey, his brothers Ben and William Boucher, their children, Russell, Debbie and Terri and his best friend Ginnie Melling. To anyone with love in their heart for Chesley, thank you. He will be missed.
