BOUCKLEY, Bonnetta Bouckley
November 27, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnetta (Bonnie) Bouckley on November 27, 2025. Predeceased by her husband Henry Russell, by her parents, Douglas and Joan and her brother, Stephen. She leaves behind her step-children, Sandra Large, Stuart Russell (Brenda) and Stephen Russell. She will be missed by her brothers, Brent and Barry (Heather). She will be remembered fondly by her niece, nephew, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bonnie was born in Toronto on April 15, 1952. She was a determined and intelligent woman. Bonnie studied Co-Op Engineering, while paying her own way through University of Waterloo to become a Chemical Engineer, becoming one of the first women in this field. She worked hard to build a long and accomplished career at General Motors, where she became known as “Queen B”.
Aside from her career, Bonnie was known for her generosity and good sense of humor. She loved a good prank (especially on her little brothers) but was also quick to lend a helping hand to a friend or family member in need. She had a particular love for animals and treated many dogs like royalty over the years.
Bonnie had a passion for cooking, and loved hosting elaborate dinners for family and friends. In warmer months, the cooking moved outside where she would barbeque. She took her food ventures to the lengths of even participating as a judge at barbecuing competitions! Her adventurous spirit also brought her on many travels, and in her retirement, she traveled around North America in an RV with Henry and their dogs.
As per Bonnie’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to World Wildlife Fund Canada or your local Humane Society.
