Chrisandra Annette Colaneri Bowey

December 29, 1971 – March 1, 2025

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Chrisandra, beloved wife, mother, and best friend of husband Micheal and son Liam, who passed away peacefully at home in Thunder Bay, surrounded by her family.

Born in Narrogin, Western Australia, Chrisandra was a beautiful child whose personality was a mix of creativity, love, happiness, generosity, humor, and a genuine care for others, with a touch of mischievousness. Her father called her “Sunshine,” and she shared a special bond with her grandfather. She always saw the best in people, making her a favorite in high school and throughout her life.

Chrisandra was adventurous, which led her to a work holiday in Calgary, Canada. It was there that she met Micheal, who was instantly smitten. After a memorable first date in Niagara Falls, they fell in love and married in 1999. Their lives changed forever in 2002 with the birth of their son, Liam, whom she adored and cherished.

As a mother, Chrisandra was fiercely protective and loving, raising Liam with endless devotion. He remembers her as his best friend, his role model, and his angel. As a wife, Micheal describes her as “too beautiful to believe” and the center of his world. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and joy.

Over nearly 30 years together, Chrisandra and Micheal lived in Toronto, London, Kingston, Ottawa, and Thunder Bay. She loved traveling, exploring Canada, visiting France, Germany, and Cuba, and making memories at their cottage on Polly Lake, her peaceful retreat.

A talented jewelry designer, Chrisandra created stunning pieces admired by her clients. She had a deep appreciation for nature, loved gardening, and was also quite the angler. Her creativity shone through in her artistic hobbies, including pottery and painting.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Micheal, son Liam, mother Geralene, sisters Jacinta Duffy (Mark) and Anneka Fraser (Ben), in-laws Mike and Marie Hogan, Tony Colaneri, and Lorenzo and Helen Colaneri. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles in both Australia and Canada. Chrisandra was predeceased by her father William and in-laws Giovanni and Guiseppina Colaneri.

Special thanks to Dr. Ibrahim, Dr. Anthes, and the compassionate nurses at TBRHS Cancer Care for their support and kindness during this difficult time.

A private gathering with immediate family has been held. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be announced in the summer, Chrisandra’s favorite season.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Regional Cancer Care Clinic or a charity of your choice in her name would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Everest of Thunder Bay Funeral Home.
