BOYES , Byron Boyes
July 17, 2025
Byron passed on July 17, 2025, with his cherished sons Wes, Clayton, and Jackson by his side. Loved by his parents Budd & Elaine Boyes, sisters Lorena Uniac, Tracy and brother-in-law Andy Moore. Predeceased by big brother Danny. He always wanted a little girl, and he got one – Lennon Hammel – his granddaughter. Fondly remembered by nieces Jessica (Mike Veenis), Rayna Moore, and nephews Trevor Uniac (Cassidy), Landon Moore, and by former wife Heather Moffatt and her mother Mary. Missed by aunts and uncles Pat & Bruce Schoenhals, Bev & Pat Boyes, Bayne Boyes, and Bonnie Boyes. Predeceased by brother-in-law Gary Uniac, grandparents Bert & Iva Boyes, and Charlie & Hazel Brown, and by Jackson’s mom Kris Strong.
Byron has been at his home since his release from AMGH where he received exceptional care from both his doctors and the staff. He has been blessed with exceptional caring friends and his buddy Ace and most attentive and helpful neighbours. The care that he received at his home from the palliative care nurses was beyond wonderful. In return he has been bust doing a daily coffee club, many meals and who knew he was a fine baker to boot! You certainly didn’t leave the farm hungry or thirsty! Not only were we all fed but his dogs Dexter, Bella, and Sara got many choice scraps.
Spring, summer, and fall were or planting, harvesting and trucking, but January was for Costa Rica with Trace & Kelly and getting friends to tag along with ocean fishing highlighted. His last few days were heartbreaking, but he wanted to stick around to see his wheat crop harvested and to brag about his yield! The family would like to thank everyone involved for their caring during this stressful time.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later time. Memorial donations to the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
