BREIN, George O’Brien

passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Stratford General Hospital. Born in Windsor, ON son of the late Albert and Anne (Ferguson) O’Brien. George was predeceased by his loving wife Therese (Bellemore) O’Brien, November 21, 2022. Proud and loved father of his four girls Maureen (Ron) McFadden, Charlene (Wayne) Ducharme, Jacqueline (Micheal) Gordon and Shaella (Michael) Near. Grandfather of 11 grandchildren and great grandfather of 13. George will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Eric Schmidt, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Henry and Mary Bellemore and his sister- in-law Carol Bellemore. Besides his parents and his wife, George was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Schmdit.

George retired from the housekeeping department of the Stratford General Hospital.

George was an avid hockey fan. He enjoyed watching the Bruins and the Stratford Warriors. He was happiest when spending time at his “Happy Place” in Bayfield.

In keeping with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and the family will hold a private graveside service in Windsor.
