BRENNAN , Tavish Mckenzie Brennan

BRENNAN , Tavish Mckenzie Brennan

It is with anguish that Tavish’s family announces his sudden passing on July 11th, 2025. He was only 31 years old.

Tavish was a force of nature, a yin and yang of intensity intertwined with softness. He was profoundly authentic, loving and thoughtful, introspective and courageous in his honesty and vulnerability. He was also an agent of chaos and mischief, the life of every party, and a comedian since birth. He was the whole human experience distilled into one beautiful and wild package, and if you met him even once, you were unable to forget him.

The source of endless laughs, countless stories, and hard-earned wisdom, he was an unparalleled and irreplaceable presence in the lives of those who knew him. He could be found skateboarding, blasting rap music at full volume (though to the surprise of many, he also had a quiet appreciation for jazz and blues), diving into deep subjects with people he trusted, and – ever a lover of the wounded and unwanted – feeding and sheltering any stray cat who came to his door meowing for help. Of course, we have to mention that no matter what Tavish was doing, he did it with “the utmost steez” (as he would say) and a head of hair Johnny Bravo himself could not compete with.

He leaves behind his devoted and loving parents – Aleta and Ken Poulin, beloved son of Michael Brennan, his doting grandparents – Catherine and Alex Stewart of Ormstown, Quebec, his adoring brothers and sisters – Mallory (Kevin), Paige (Justin), Michael Shawn (Kaitlin), Meagan (Devon), Justin (Kim), aunts and uncles – John (deceased), Brian (Polly), Robert, Monica, Joanne, and a group of nieces and nephews who consistently crowned him “funniest in the family” – Chloee, Ivy, Taphrick, and Riley. He also leaves behind a motley crew of friends, soulmates, and partners-in-crime who now carry on his memories and stories.

A Celebration of Life with Tavish’s immediate family will take place at a later date.

The family requests that donations may be made in memory/tribute of Tavish’s life at www.cornwallhospitalfoundation.ca. The staff at Cornwall Hospital Foundation will ensure all gifts in memory of Tavish Brennan will support Community Addiction and Mental Health Services.
