BRODHAGEN, Barbara Brodhagen

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear mother on May 10, 2025, at 1:30 a.m., surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. She left this world peacefully, wrapped in the warmth of our gratitude, admiration, and endless love. We were blessed to tell her how truly wonderful she was.

Our mother was our home. She was our comfort, our counselor, and our constant — always there when we needed her. Her home-cooked meals nourished more than our bodies; they held generations together. She was the glue of our family, a steady presence through every joy and challenge.

She had a playful, youthful spirit and an unforgettable sense of humor. “I’m high on life!” she would often say and she truly was. In her younger days, she waltzed gracefully on roller skates and danced like no one was watching. She brought joy and laughter into every space she entered.

A proud Indigenous woman, she carried a deep and enduring strength. Though once told to hide her heritage to protect her father’s business, she remained proud of her roots a quiet resilience that shaped our family’s identity and pride.

She was an avid Blue Jays fan and loved watching figure skating. But more than anything, she adored her family. She raised six children Johnny (who predeceased her from cancer), Sandy, David, Kelly, Troy, and Leanne and loved her many grandchildren fiercely. Nothing made her happier than caring for her grandbabies and being surrounded by their laughter.

Her legacy is one of unconditional love, resilience, warmth, and joy. She will be missed beyond words but carried with us in every meal, every story, every Blue Jays game, and every moment we gather as a family — together, just as she taught us.Rest well, Mom. You were everything to us.
