BROWN , Larry Allen Brown “Libby”

Larry Allen Brown, a.k.a. THE LEGEND, known as “Libby” to his close friends and family, age 61, of Wiarton, passed away in the comfort of friends and family, alongside his beloved spouse Linda Springer, at Brightshores Hospital in Owen Sound on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Larry grew up in Stokes Bay and carried the values of that close-knit community with him throughout his life. He will be remembered as a big teddy bear who fiercely loved his spouse, Linda Springer, her sons Matthew, Michael, and Mitchel, his daughter Carly, and his son Brydon. He was a strong, level-headed person with a heart of gold, who brought comfort and stability to those around him. One of his greatest joys in life was embracing his role as a grandfather to his six grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.

Larry had an infectious love that touched everyone he met, and he was truly a gentleman in every sense of the word.

He is survived by his spouse, Linda Springer; her sons Matthew (Jade), Michael, and Mitchel (Kourtney); his son Brydon (Andrea); his daughter Carly; his sister Michelle (Ben Poot); his brothers Don (Lise), John (Maureen), and Tom (Sharon); his brother-in-law Alan Springer (Kim); his mother- and father-in-law Georgina and Cliff Springer; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Larry is predeceased by his father, Ray Alexander Brown; his mother, Dorris Beatrice Brown “Bea”; and his sisters, Ellen Seeley and Roberta Aljoe.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on September 6th, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 42 Beech St, Hope Bay (Wiarton), ON N0H 2T0. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice in Larry’s memory.

Larry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
