BROWN, Patrick Llewellyn Bowker Brown
February 14, 1946 - February 11, 2026He was born in St. Catharines on February 14, 1946, grew up in Beamsville and lived his adult life in Hamilton, Ontario. He had been experiencing health issues lately and was spending some time in respite care at Parkland Ancaster while undergoing chemotherapy. He had been joyfully planning to celebrate his 80th birthday with family and friends when he passed away in his sleep three days before the big event, on February 11th.
Patrick (or Rick, or Pat, as he was also known) was pre-deceased by his life partner, Heidi Ohrt, and leaves her three children, their five grandchildren, spouses, cousins and numerous friends, deeply saddened by his passing.
Patrick had a professional career in banking in Toronto, but his passion was restoring his old Victorian home and filling it full of gleaming antiques and treasures collected on his travels around the globe. He and Heidi enjoyed many exciting trips to far-off places, and closer to home were regulars at the Canadian Opera Company, various art galleries, museums and theatre venues. They loved to do daytrips and other events with the William Morris Society, where Patrick still served on the board.
Patrick’s eagerly anticipated 80th birthday party became a Celebration of his Life, attended by 30 of his family and friends, for whom his kindness, wisdom and laughter will live on forever.
Donations to the Canadian Opera Company or the William Morris Society of Canada would be a welcome and thoughtful tribute to Patrick.
