BUCKLEY , Rick Buck Buckley

“Stand back and clear the doors” — this train is departing for places unknown.

Sadly, we share that our dearest Rick Buckley passed away on August 5th, 2025. He was our greatest champion, Mayor of the neighbourhood, and friend to all.

Rick loved his career of over 40 years working for CN Rail and Via Rail, starting as a brakeman and moving up the ranks to train conductor. He will be missed dearly by his wife Linda (née Hedger), his daughter Christina Istead (Rick Simpson) “R2”, and his son Steven Buckley (Chris Malchow). Proud Papa to Kyle and Misty Istead, Dylan Istead and Chris Campanella, Connor Buckley and Brandon Buckley, and Andrew, Ryan, and Angela of Niagara Falls. Great Papa Buck to Kolton and Charlee Istead.

He was predeceased by his brother John Buckley of Belleville. Rick will be remembered always by his sisters and brothers-in-law Rosy Buckley, Sheila and Lloyd Kellett, and Pat Hedger, as well as his many nieces and nephews who gave him precious family memories. His lifetime friend Ted Kornblum will also cherish their shared moments. May we always remember his wonderful humour, wit, and the good times we shared.
