BUMBACCO , Ann Bumbacco

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Ann passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) at the age of 75, after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Adored wife of Kenny for over 43 years. Dearly loved mother of Stephanie (Mike Circelli), Stacie (Tom Douridas), and Kelly (Justin Robinson). Cherished Grannie Annie of Matthew & Gabriel Circelli and Delilah & Giorgia Ann Douridas, who all brought her so much joy.

Predeceased by her loving parents Wilf and Winnie Dixon. Sister of Sue Grosso (Bill), who lived just five doors down, sharing not just a street but a special connection and closeness. Daughter-in-law of the late Erine and the late Ilda Bumbacco. Sister-in-law of Jerry Bumbacco (Fay), Jamie Bumbacco (Betty-Jean) and loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Ann was born in England and immigrated to Canada at the age of eight. She had warm memories of her childhood with beach-filled days on the English seaside and treasured family traditions that shaped the values she would later pass on to her own family.

At just 19, Ann began her lifelong career in education. For over 40 years, she worked as a teacher and mentor to countless students. After retiring, Ann continued giving back to the community by volunteering at Sault Area Hospital.

Family was at the heart of everything Ann did. Whether traveling to Florida, golfing, enjoying dinners out, dancing in the basement, or relaxing at camp on Island Lake, she lived life with love, laughter, and joy.

She had a special gift for making holidays magical — setting the Christmas table weeks in advance and preparing feasts with enough leftovers to feed half the Soo. Ann’s warmth and hospitality created countless special memories for all who entered her home.

Above all, Ann will be remembered for her strength, curiosity, generosity, and kindness. She had a unique ability to make people feel special — always asking thoughtful questions, sending handwritten notes, and truly listening.

Our family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. C. Kuntz, Dr. J. Shum, Dr. M. Febbraro, and Dr. N. Apostle for their compassionate care, as well as to the nursing teams and ARCH staff who supported Ann with grace and dignity. Special thanks to Father Hamish Currie for his prayers and visits.

A service to celebrate Ann’s remarkable life will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 12:00 pm with Father Hamish Currie officiating. All are invited to gather afterward in the Lower Lounge at Northwood.

In memory of Ann, donations may be made to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund or ARCH.

Ann, Mom – you will be so deeply missed. We will feel your presence every time we pour our morning tea, drink a strawberry milkshake, sweep “the bits” off the floor, Bon Jovi plays, or the Yankees win.

Love you forever. “It’s time to say goodnight.”

Memories and condolences may be shared at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre.
