BURDICK, Deborah Joy Burdick

After a long courageous battle, Deborah Joy Burdick peacefully passed on December 6, 2025 at the Hamilton General Hospital. We want to extend an extra special thank you to the staff and doctors of the cardiac ICU and five south.

Debbie was born August 13, 1951 in Stoney Creek Ontario. She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy, father Earl, sister Pat, brother Donnie, brother John and brother Rick.

She was a beloved wife and mother, a sister, an auntie and a best friend.

Her heart knew no bounds. She brightened every room and invited you in with warmth, love and fresh homemade bread.

Debbie’s memory will be forever cherished by her husband John, daughters Sheri and Vicki, Son in love Kevin, brother Barry, brother in love Gord, sisters in love Karen, Dawn, Fran, and Connie, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

If you knew her, you were loved by her.  If you were loved by her, you were blessed.

She’s the whisper of leaves as you walk down the street.

She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, the fragrance of life itself.

She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well. She’s your breath in the air on a cold winter day.

She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colours of the rainbow.

She is Christmas morning.

She lives inside us.

She is where we come from, our first home.

She’s the map we will follow with every step.

She was our first love, our first best friend.

Nothing on earth can separate us.

Not time.

Not space.

Not even death.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
