Surrounded by family on June 23rd, 2025, at Strathroy Middle General Hospital, Thomas Wayne “Tom” Buttery passed away at the age of 74.

Much loved brother of Barb (John) Grogan, the late Bill Buttery (2009) (Lucy and Rick), Nancy (Ralph) Goad, Al (Bobbi) Buttery, Ron (Mary) Buttery, and Cathy Buttery (Patrice Gagnon).

Cherished uncle of John, Jennifer (Jim); Stacey, Carrie, Amanda; Mike (Melissa), Andrew (Devin), Krista (Patrick); Mandy (Noel), Dan, Brad (Abby); Justin (Jessica), Laura (Shane); Alex, and Julien (Jose).

Adored great-uncle of Josh, Jake; Matthew (Jordan), Brad, Derek, Alex, Jenna, Alana, Morgan, Hunter, Lucas; Evan, Chloe, Adam, Ryan; Dylan, Alyssa, Claire, Amelia, Parker; Leah, Nathan, Scott, Evan, Charlotte, and Kate.

Predeceased by his parents Bill (1992) and Jennie (2008) Buttery and his infant brother George Buttery (1945).

Tom was an active member of the Kerwood Optimist Club for many years. He enjoyed spending time and sharing stories with his friends and neighbours. Tom travelled to many places across Canada and the United States. Most of all, Tom loved to farm. He was incredibly proud to call himself a farmer. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.

Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, from 12:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm. A private family interment will take place at Strathroy Cemetery. A reception will follow the service. Visitors are encouraged to dress casually.

Tom’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. N Buma for the decades of care he gave to Tom. His family would also like to thank Dr. Larson, the doctors and nurses at Strathroy Middle General Hospital, the VON, and the caregivers at Bayshore for all of the care and support that they have provided to Tom and his family over the years.
