CARON, Simone Caron

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Simone Caron (née Rainville), on March 8, 2026, at the age of 100.

Born in 1925 in Quebec City, Simone was the daughter of Dr. Rosaire Rainville and Bella Rinfret. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Joseph Edouard Caron (2011), by their infant son, Robert (1959), and by her sisters, Françoise and Lise.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Louise (Andrew) and Suzanne; her granddaughters Mariane (David), Laura (Jesse), Emily (Michelle), Gabrielle (Armando) and Caroline (Roland); and her great-grandchildren, her dear sister-in-law, Hélène Busse, and many nieces and nephews.

As a young woman, Simone studied opera singing in New York and Paris and later performed as a soprano across Canada, sharing her love of music with audiences nationwide.

Our family extends heartfelt thanks to the 5th Floor dedicated staff at Garry J. Armstrong Long-Term Care Home for their compassionate care. Your kindness made a meaningful difference in Simone’s final months.

A celebration of her life will be held on April 12, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
