CARUSO, Frank Caruso

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Caruso, a beloved husband, father, nonno, and friend. Frank passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, surrounded by the love of his family.

Frank was the cherished husband of Adelina for 59 wonderful years. Loving father to Albert (Maria), Dianne, and Laura (Jason). Proud Nonno to Selena, Matteo, Christina, Stephanie (Alessio), Christian, and Kayla (Rodenny). He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Gigino (Liliana), Davide (Maria), Giuseppe (Carmela), Giannino (Maria Pia), and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Umberto and Italia Carmela. He was a dear brother-in-law to Armando and Emilia, Luigi, and Tony, and was predeceased by Frank and Diane. Frank was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, and will be remembered fondly by his extended family and many friends in both Canada and Italy.

Born in Italy, Frank immigrated to Canada in 1965, courageously seeking a better life. Prior to his journey, he worked as a stenographer. In Canada, he furthered his education at Durham College and went on to build a successful career as a bookkeeper and accountant, retiring at the age of 52 after many years of dedicated service.

Frank was a man of simple joys and profound passions. He had a special gift for gardening—especially when it came to growing tomatoes. His flourishing tomato plants were more than a pastime; they were an expression of his love and generosity, which he shared freely with family and friends. Giving away his plants was his way of keeping his spirit alive in others.

A devoted AC Milan fan, Frank’s heart also belonged to the beautiful game of soccer. He was a proud former member of the Oshawa Italian Club and played with the Oshawa Italian Soccer Team. The camaraderie and competition brought him great joy, and his passion for the sport remained strong throughout his life.

At the core of Frank’s world was his family. He found joy in everyday, sharing a coffee with friends, laughing over a game of cards, and cherishing every moment with his grandchildren. He was a man who valued deep connections, built lifelong friendships, and always made time for those he cared about.

Though he faced many health challenges over the years, Frank’s strength and resilience never faltered. The love and unwavering support of his devoted wife, Adelina, and his family gave him the courage to live a full and meaningful life.

Frank leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength. His memory will continue to live on—like the tomato plants he so tenderly nurtured—in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
