CATOLINO, Giuseppe “Joe” Catolino
July 26, 1936 - December 26, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppe (Peppino/Joe) Catolino, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished Nonno. He died peacefully on Friday, December 26th 2025, surrounded by his immediate family.
Giuseppe was born in Agnone, IS, Italy, on July 26, 1936, to Rocco and Lucia (née DiNiro) Catolino. He was one of four boys in a close-knit family, and he forged lifelong bonds of brotherhood.
With a spirit of adventure and hope, Giuseppe and his beloved wife, Teresa, immigrated to Canada, where they built a beautiful life together. Their partnership was the foundation of their family, a true testament to shared dreams and resilience.
Giuseppe’s greatest pride and joy were his children. He was a loving, supportive father to Rocco Catolino and Lucy Catolino Pettinato (Vito). His role as Nonno brought him immense happiness. His grandchildren will forever miss him: Alexis (Joshua), Stephanie (Antonio), and Jordan (Olivia). He was a constant source of love, wisdom, and strength in their lives.
Giuseppe is predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Lucia; his older brother, Antonio Catolino; and his sister-in-law, Immaculata, of France. He is also predeceased by his dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Bax Family.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Teresa; his brothers, Angelo Catolino (Jeanette) of France and Renato Catolino (Gabriella) of Canada; Teresa’s dear surviving brother, Enrico, and by his many nieces and nephews and their spouses, whose lives he touched deeply, along with countless friends in both Canada and Italy.
Giuseppe, a man of quiet dignity, hard work, and deep family commitment, built a warm, welcoming home. His legacy endures in the family he nurtured and the values he instilled.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Joseph’s Health Care London’s Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday, December 29 from 4pm -7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Tuesday morning, December 30 at 11 am, with entombment to follow at Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Giuseppe are asked to consider the Palliative Care Unit at Parkwood Hospital in care of St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation (https://www.sjhc.london.on.ca/foundation)
