CAWTHORPE, Robert E. J. “Bob” Cawthorpe

Of St. Thomas, ON, Robert E. J. “Bob” Cawthorpe passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in his 72nd year.

Bob was a cherished brother to Joseph Cawthorpe, Jean Cawthorpe, and Dr. David Cawthorpe. He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Joel, Rachel, Sarah, Leah, Rika, Avraham, Kevin, Dannielle, Ian, Joshua, and Marguerite, along with their families. He was also the best friend of Michael Main.

Born on August 27, 1953, in St. Thomas, Bob was the son of the late Dr. Joseph F. Cawthorpe (1966) and the late Jean (née McCaw) Cawthorpe (2002). He was a graduate of Parkside Collegiate Institute in St. Thomas and spent seven years working for Natural Recovery in New Brunswick.

Bob will be remembered for his love of science fiction—especially Star Trek and Doctor Who.

By invitation, a private visitation and funeral service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, St. Thomas. Interment will follow in the Union United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice are gratefully acknowledged.
