MACKIE, Cecile Elizabeth Mackie

MACKIE, Cecile Elizabeth (nee THERRIAULT)   –  Died peacefully, in Oakville, Ontario, on July 5, 2023, at the age of 85, after a difficult struggle with dementia.

She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Cecile is survived by her loving sons, John (Vicky Edwards) and Ron; her cherished grandchildren, Scott (Vicky), Craig, Shannon, Laura and Sean; as well as her brother, Jean-Marie; and her sisters, Laurette, Lucille, and Lynn; and many nephews and nieces.

Daughter of the late Roland and Evelyne Therriault; she was predeceased by her husband, Alasdair; son, Doug; sister, Adrienne; and brother, Robert.

Born in Ste. Marguerite, Quebec, on May 28, 1938,

Cecile worked as an executive assistant, most recently with INCO Limited (now Vale Canada).

In their younger years, Cecile and Alasdair loved golfing, travelling and Scottish country dancing.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the many caregivers that have assisted in caring for Cecile in her final years. Special thanks to Mississauga Halton CCAC and the staff of Northridge Long-Term Care Home for their kind support.

Visitation will be held at the Crestview Chapel on the grounds of the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. and Interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
