CETNIK , Lazar Cetnik

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lazar Cetnik on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the age of 83, at the Hamilton General Hospital.

Lazar leaves behind his loving wife Anica of 52 years, children Mira (Craig), Dana and Mike; grandchildren Daniel, David, Aleksandra and Nikola. He is also survived by siblings Mile (+Anica), +Bozica (+Luka), +Ljubica (+Bosko), Sava (+Bozo), Bozo (Stana), Marko, Nenad (Slavka), and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and Kumovi in Canada and Europe.

Lazar was a proud member of the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church and community. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 2004 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, vacationing in Cuba with Anica, and camping at Killbear Park. Lazar loved tending to his garden and sharing his harvest with neighbours and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, August 21 from 5–8 p.m., with a Pomen Service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 149 Nash Road South, Hamilton, officiated by The Very Reverend Father Dragomir Ninkovic. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
