CHAPPELLE, Michael David Chappelle
March 2, 2026
He was age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his three children on March 2, 2026, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Michael was born on November 15, 1952, in Oakville, Ontario to Doris and David Chappelle. He attended Queens University for undergraduate studies prior to beginning his career as a successful Technical Sales Engineer with RHI Canada. Michael was passionate about his work and served the company for 42 years prior to his retirement in 2017. He married his beautiful wife Mary Rooke on December 7, 1978, and had three loving children.
Michael is survived by his wife, Mary; his three children, David, Lauren (Peter) and Katie (Michael); two grandchildren, Halley and a baby boy yet to be born; his fur grandson Reese; and his three siblings. Besides spending time with family and friends, Michael had a passion for traveling, golf, rock and roll music (particularly Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and the Beatles), playing games and collecting guitars, Wonderland trips, cooking, and indulging in great wine and food. He was known for his strong yet silly disposition, and cracked jokes until the very end.
The family would like to express our thanks and gratitude for the wonderful help and care given by the emergency and palliative care teams at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, as well as his devoted Personal Support Worker, Ronda, and Dr. Sharif of the Oncology team.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Michael’s honour. No service as per request.
May you rest in peace, flying in your blue dream.
