Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Bluewater Health, Bob Charman passed away at the age of 73. Loving husband of Deb Charman (nee Chovancek). Cherished step-father of Nick (Stefany) McCallum and Adam (Courtney) McCallum. Treasured grampa of Finley, Colson, and Abby. Dear son-in-law of Jean Chovancek. Brother of Gail (the late Jack) Lea, and brother-in-law of Mary Charman, Jim (Shirley) Gammon, and Paul (Jane) Chovancek. Predeceased by his parents Art and Colma Charman and by siblings Donna (the late Bill) Hoffner, and Bill Charman. Bob will be missed by his extended family and many dear friends. Bob was a proud member of IBEW 530 and had a 40 year long career as the Electrical Supervisor at IOL Research. He was a car enthusiast and especially loved Corvettes. Bob will be remembered for the meticulous maintenance of his property with a lot of attention dedicated to the lawn. Above all else, his greatest joy was being a grampa both to the kids and to his grand-puppies. Without a doubt, Bob is walking along the beach in heaven with his grand-pup Ted. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private memorial service will take place. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia and District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smithfuneralhome.ca
