CHARTERS, Cameron Charters

CHARTERS, Cameron Charters

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cameron Charters, at Mount Sinai Hospital on December 11, 2025, at the age of 30. Cameron was a cherished son of Lynnette (John) and Bill (Vanessa). He was a devoted partner to Amanda, a loving brother to Kim (Layne) and Kyle and a very special Uncle to Charli.

He was an avid adventurer with a love for the outdoors in every season of the year. At a young age, he spent time building quinzhees in the snow with Kimberly and Kyle. Cameron passionately designed and built Eastern Hills Disc Golf Course, with a love for creating outdoor opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. He knew how to make 30+ knots and also when to use them. He loved paddling, running, climbing and spending time with friends and family at his beloved second home – Cedar Ridge Camp. Cameron also felt at home along the shores of Georgian Bay in Thornbury, where he spent time with the love of his life Amanda and the Rankin family. He loved the spirit and adventure of The Blue Mountains, where they wanted to begin a family together. Cameron wanted everyone to find joy in the outdoors and to feel connected to the earth. He was a quiet observer of life and always had a way of looking at situations with a unique and positive point of view. His kindness and gratitude were trademarks of the way he lived his life. Always looking out for others, always thanking them for their time and showing gratitude for their help.

In February of 2025, Cameron was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial sarcoma. He fought a valiant fight after surgery removed the tumour along with his pulmonary artery, a heart valve and 1/3 of his right lung. They unfortunately were not able to get all of the cancer out of his lungs and chemotherapy was the next step that gave him a fighting chance. In the Summer of 2025, Cameron spent his sunniest days walking downtown Toronto, exploring the Blue Mountains, and surrounded himself with his loving family and friends. In the fall, Cameron’s cancer metastasized and was found to be growing. He continued to do everything possible to fight this disease to the very last hour that he could. We are so endlessly proud of the bravery and intense determination from our Cameron and in Cameron style, say a tremendously large thank you to the compassionate caring medical and nursing staff that supported him and our family throughout this difficult journey.

Our lives have been forever changed by his beautiful spirit and sense of humour. We are grateful that he is no longer in pain and know that he is now free to climb any mountain, canoe every rapid and view beautiful sights in the universe. We encourage everyone to go enjoy some time outside in honour of Cameron.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Cameron in the new year. More details will be shared by the family in January.Β The family requests that donations be made in Cameron’s name at one of his two favourite charities, Campfire Circle (sending children with cancer to camp) or Sarcoma Cancer Foundation of Canada.
