With broken hearts we announce Rene’s passing at Hamilton General Hospital, on Monday, August 11, 2025, in her 78th year. Reunited in Heaven with Dominic, her beloved husband for more than 50 years. Loving mother to Tony (Ashley) and Christopher (Sonia). Proud grandmother of Luca, Leo and Christian, and dear sister to John Carmichael (Debbie). Much-loved sister-in-law to the late Teresa (late Tony), late Maria (late Bill), Ada (late Geno). Predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Walter Carmichael and in-laws Rafaella and Antonio Chimenti.
Rene was a woman of warmth, quiet strength, and unshakable kindness. She spent her life creating beauty—in the quilts she lovingly stitched, the friendships she nurtured, and the moments of laughter she shared over countless games of Scrabble.
An avid swimmer, Rene found peace in the water, whether it was early morning water aerobics or leisurely swims with her grandchildren. Her creativity shines in her quilting, a craft she turned into an art form, gifting hand-sewn treasures that will be cherished for generations.
A lifelong lover of nature, she found great joy in her garden, where her green thumb transformed simple soil into vibrant beauty.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
