It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Winnie Cole, who departed this life on Sunday, May 11th at the wonderful age of 95 years. Her persistence, feistiness and a quick-witted humour kept her going all those years. She always loved giving and receiving hugs.

Born on September 4, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario, Winnie was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She lived a full life of kindness and love for her family and all the special friends she had over the years. She was predeceased by five sisters and one brother.

Winnie married the love of her life, Clarence George, on June 5th, 1948. They spent years raising their family in a warm and welcoming home, enjoying many friends and travelling. George predeceased her on April 26th, 1996. She missed him dearly over the last 29 years and frequently wrote letters and poetry of love to him after his sudden passing. She spent her later years with many friends in her condo community and in her retirement communities. Bingo, card games, exercise classes and travelling were frequent activities that kept her busy for years.

Winnie was a devoted mother to three children, Richard George [Doreen], Brenda Gail [Dennis] and Karen Elizabeth [Peter]. A loving grandmother to her cherished grandchildren David [Stephanie], Thomas [Kathryn], Aaron [Chelsea], Katrina [Jeremy] and Julia and her great-grandchildren Keira, Alannah and Amelia. They will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

She will be missed by family and friends for years to come.
